About this event

Panel discussion presented by the current Ariel F. Sallows Chair in Human Rights, Dr. Rachel Loewen Walker.

Guest Speakers: Mayor Charlie Clark, Ben Borne, and Jill Bishop

On Feb. 23, 2021, Global News proudly announced an “historic moment” in Saskatoon: city council had voted to ban conversion therapy. Unequivocally, this was a win for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, but is this a battle won? This panel discussion looks at the impacts, uptake, and complications of conversion therapy bylaws. Does the bylaw apply to all sites? How will it be enforced? Does it include religious communities? Join Mayor Charlie Clark, Ben Borne, and lawyer Jill Bishop as they discuss these questions and others in the work towards building an accepting and welcoming city for all.

CPD Credits: 1.5 Hours (Approved by the Law Society of Saskatchewan)
